Social Forestry: Think and act globally

Think and act globally, as they say. Yes. But think locally as well. Don't lose sight of the needs of your local area and your local community when thinking globally. Tree planting is not a new idea, but no one has really thought about making it a global initiative. The time to act is now because our forests are disappearing at an alarming rate each year because of fulfilling big population needs. We have only seen the effects of what deforestation can do so far, but now we must realize these are only the symptoms. If we wait any longer to make the changes we need to make now, who knows how much worse it could get by then? Social forestry is for the betterment of society and the planet as well. Don't forget, there is no planet B.

Envisioning a "new" future for society

The idea of a "New" future is an idea that benefits all. We work together to create a vision and define the best steps forward, letting our creative minds explore possibilities, and seeing how each idea can be most impactful on society and the planet. Social Forestry is a subcategory of reforestation and afforestation, which are plants that are intentionally grown and released to help restore areas damaged by human activity or natural disasters. Reforestation provides lumber for building and other purposes, but it also serves environmental functions such as erosion control and providing habitat for other plants and animals. That’s why social forestry is a necessary response to the challenges we face in our own time. It's a way forward that offers a hope of peaceful coexistence with the other species sharing this planet with us, and could at least help us avoid their extinction and the ultimate destruction of all life! The future of the planet and its inhabitants depe...

Everyone can do their part to keep the environment clean and breathable

Save the environment is everyone's job, even small activities and efforts from each of us count. Everyone needs to think about these issues and act or react and stop sending a bad message to next gen. Even the smallest thing will help. Anyone can protect the environment by planting trees and making these plants grow for years to come. Trees are useful and good for the environment by producing oxygen. A tree has its own life cycle, so you will have some work to do to help remind the tree that it needs to produce oxygen. To keep trees healthy, you will need to take care of them. There are many times when people focus their attention on keeping up with business rather than taking the time to enjoy nature and wildlife. Taking a step forward to help protect natural resources and keep the environment clean is the need of the hour. What better way than planting a sampling of your own at home? There are several organizations helping in their own way to promote this great idea of social...

Social forestry gives us a chance to make a difference

Today, we're not so much cutting down new trees as planting them in small patches here and there. Imagine that your job was to plant a forest - a nice tall one with lots of trees - all by yourself. You might be pretty frustrated, it’s hard to do a great job when you're just working on one tree at a time. Or if you could somehow get enough people to work with you to plant really big forests. Social forestry (SF) is a system of managing forests that makes cities healthier and combats climate change. It brings social and environmental benefits to the city, building a greener and better future. Trees planted on land outside forests add to the total forest cover of land. Trees have been given importance here because they help prevent desertification in arid and semi-arid areas by conserving soil moisture, checking soil erosion, and increasing rainfall. It also has a direct impact on increasing agricultural productivity, water availability, and improving the standard of living of...

The community dimension of our lives can be fulfilled through social foresting

Our community dimension of life is the aspect that involves building and maintaining a network of close relationships and associations. This area of our lives has social, cultural and communal dimensions. The primary goal is to foster connections between different people in society and connect people to nature around them. If you think about it, isn't a forest more than just trees? A forest is a place we humans choose to live among those trees. Social Foresting is a platform that helps you discover, keep up with, and share the most important content from your social networks. Social Foresting wants to create meaningful interaction between people and bring back fun into social networking. It allows users to interact in a healthy environment while rewarding those who contribute quality content with points they can spend on the Social Foresting club.

We can all do our bit to help the environment

There are those who talk about saving the world and doing more for society, but very few act upon it. Social Forest is an ecosystem & platform for all social entrepreneurs. Get involved!. Every day normal consumers get a lot of pieces of mail, more than 40% of which is advertising. The cost to the economy and the environment from all this junk is astronomical. True or not, these are the messages we get from what we see on TV, read in magazines and newspapers, hear on the radio, and feel in our gut. Reducing paper usage is good, but reusing paper is better. Reusing paper saves trees which means saving our environment. This is an efficient way to protect forests in India and more effectively manage our resources. Social Forestry is a new social experiment that provides a meaningful real-life experience of forest protection activities. This can increase the level of public interest, and participation in forest protection actions on both regional and national levels. Social...

New generation forest with good intention to engage social

Social Forest has been designed to engage in a social cause. It is more than just a tree-planting project. It is the foundation of a social movement against poverty. We have the knowledge, commitment, and technology to transform the environment and the lives of millions of people. The key is our willingness to extend a helping hand in order to achieve this transformation. Children aren't being taught how to interact with nature- they don't grow up seeing the cycle of life, they are not being encouraged to do projects and most of all they are unable to break out of the cycle in which they find themselves. Creating a feeling of community through social forestry is the key to show people what sort of world they will inherit, and by giving them the tools and education to understand how to make their own changes. Things can't change immediately it takes time to happen, so the best time to think about nature is right now.

Social Issues & Environmental Impacts

Social Forestry is not just an organization working against the biggest problems of this world. The impact we are trying to make is huge and we are trying to make sure every bit of our work helps towards making a difference. It is a social business network now that helps businesses to engage directly with their stakeholders. We help them to understand, react and respond in a way that humanizes, empowers, and extends the brand and product or service experience. It is a social cause we need to engage ourselves in. Nowadays it is important that we look at the environmental problems the earth is facing, the most notable being global warming and deforestation. We need to take some serious action now rather than wait for someone else to do something about it. We are all responsible for the changing climate of our planet because of our utter unconsciousness and greed toward nature.

Social Forestry for social cause, get involved!

Social Forest is a social cause because it aims for environmental improvement. The group first works to clean up the environment which becomes an opportunity for the community to get involved in social forestry. It engages the local community to plant trees and take care of the green areas in their area. Thanks to the internet and social media, we are all connected. Our world has become a global village. But, in spite of this tremendous technological achievement, we haven't yet learned how to live together in peace. So why not do what we've always done? Trees unite us - from the first trees ( Walden by Thoreau ) to the cherry blossoms of Japan, the banyan trees in India, and the acacia trees in Africa. Trees create unity above us, they inspire us, they look after us and they feed us. They are renewable energy providers that can withstand climate change and pollution. Trees make up for our social flaws and shortcomings. There is a lot of pressure in modern society to confo...

Social forestry approach and principle

A social forestry is a social approach to conserving forests and forest management that has been developed as a response to climate change and energy problems. It is more than just an environmental movement, it is a way of life that involves people from all walks of life working together for the betterment of their communities, the environment, and most importantly themselves. This approach is based on three main principles:   ü     People are at the center of everything! ü     People are responsible for what they choose to do with nature (their forests). ü     The relationship between man, nature, and society should be based on mutual respect and cooperation instead of domination or exploitation.  That is why Social Forestry is a method for increasing the amount of forest cover in a specific area by involving local communities in the management of their natural resources. It involves building relationships with local communities and engaging ...

How social forestry benefits the society

Benefits of Social Forestry Social forestry focuses on the group as a whole instead of solely on the individual. Social forestry is meant to help the environment by recycling and reusing materials and by planting trees. Social forestry can be an affordable way to maintain your forest. Social forestry is a philosophy that encourages people to work together to maintain forests. It is an extension of environmentalism and social justice. Working together to conserve our natural resources is an important part of our sustainable development; it protects our environment and builds empathy among individuals. Communities can use social forestry to conserve their forests and create employment opportunities for rural and underprivileged communities.   First, social forestry promotes social well-being through cooperation and self-reliance. Individuals cooperate with one another to conserve forests. For instance, families can plant trees together in a community forest. This...
